Keep running.

When I started running my wish that turned into a goal was to qualify for Boston. Just so I could say "I qualified for Boston."

AFTER BQ, I think I will do some Tri events.  For sure some Half Ironman events, and see where that takes me.

Had I realized I was at .22 miles I would have gone down the street to even it up.  :-)

Contemplated taking today off, achilles is still a little sore.  So thought I would take it easy and set out for a 3 mile loop.  Thought if I felt good I would go 4.  Then I was feeling good and 4 turned into 5.  Silly.  And I probably should leave my watch at home sometimes.  What was supposed to be slow turned out to be "if I just go a little faster I........"  Slow then turned into some miles faster than marathon pace.

A thought I have been having is trying to figure out what heart rate means to me.  Besides if I'm alive or dead.  So, here are my splits today with max and average HR

 Lap Dist Pace Ave HR
 Max HR
 1 1 8:03 144162
 2 1 7:16 160 165
 3 1 7:21 159 164
 4 1 7:22 160 164
 5 1 7:12 159 166
 6 .22 7:34 164 168
 Summary 5.227:27
 156 168

I wonder what this means.  I think I make it more complicated than it need be.  I think I will try a mile (the same mile everytime I test this so that I don't have elevation gains/losses to think about) at 170 HR.  The first mile here is mostly incline, and about .25 of the second mile is incline, then all the incline from mile 1 and .25 of 2 are lost in .25 - .75 of mile 2.  Then its a slight up grade for the rest of 2 and 3, then somewhat flat for the rest.  So I may see if I can make the last mile a 170 HR mile.  If you all hear about some really old dude that died because his heart burst out of his chest while running in Orem, it may be me.  :-)

Have a great day!

Was going to take the day off, but then found myself waiting for Kelly to finish up on a bike ride.  So I took the chance and went for a little run around her home.  Really never felt like pushing it at all so time wise it wasn't that great.  I think that I'm still not used to the hotter temps.  I think it was a good 75 degrees at run time.

Ran a 7 mile loop that I used to run a couple years ago.  It is mentally challenging.  Weird.  I had a hard time, and I remember that I got to where I didn't like that loop.  I ran it toooooo much, kinda like when you play a song to much, and you get sick of it.  Well, it was torture to run this loop.  Mentally I had to talk myself through it.  Oh well, made it.

Hope everyone has something fun planned for the weekend.  Long runs, races, BBQ's.  Fun Fun Fun.

First: 12/7:51 pace

Left ankle/achilles still hurting towards 3/4 way.   Left knee and IT hurting last mile.  Felt ok other than that.  Wanted all those pains to feel better after a lower mile week.  Humm.  Darn.  Maybe another lower mile week coming up.

I think this is THE day.  Will let you know!

Have a GREAT weekend!
