Keep running.

When I started running my wish that turned into a goal was to qualify for Boston. Just so I could say "I qualified for Boston."

AFTER BQ, I think I will do some Tri events.  For sure some Half Ironman events, and see where that takes me.

I sure didn't want to get out of bed today!  My legs are still sore from Sat.  I am still bummed with my training/focus/performance Sat.

Run today went well.  I wanted to turn around at mile 2.5 and again at 3 and again at 4.  One of the things I think I have allowed is cutting planned workouts short.  This has allowed my mind to quit when I shouldn't.  (like at Hobble Creek)

I was trying to keep the pace as close to 8 as possible.  I'm really shocked how sore my legs are!  I ran 20 miles two Saturdays and then all week I have felt like I am coming down with something, my legs were sore after Monday's run and for the rest of the week. Today, two days after Hobble Creek they hurt to straighten out and to go down stairs is horrible.  Oh well.

ON a positive note, Kelly and I got our letters from the first Pres Saturday.  YEAH!!!!!  Now we can set a date and move forward!!!!!!!!  YeeeeeeeHAW.  We are thinking Oct 16.   SWEEEEEET.

Ran from the house to about 1 mile up Provo Canyon.  I'm surprised how my legs are still sore. The down hill is just yuck.  Usually I like to open up and let the down take me faster, but the top of the quads are just SORE......

So, another easy day.  This week will be all slower, like this run or Mondays run.

Have a wonderful day!!!

Got up, got ready.  Bathroom wouldn't let me go.  I have some sort of bug.  URRRRR.

When I finally got out the door I only had 30-35 min to run.  So, I did what I could.

Starting off I could feel some sort of strain/pulled something on the outside of my leg above my ankle.  Yesterday I started to go up some stairs at work fast (like two at a time) with a lot bounce (kinda like running), and I could feel I was sore deep in there from Sat.  So I stopped going up the stairs like that.  This morning it was SORE to push off.  It took 200 yards or so to get where I could stride somewhat normal.  The pain/soreness didn't get worse so I kept going.

With the lack of time, and my legs feeling good after a warm up, I decided I would push the pace a little and see how it would go.  After all I knew I wouldn't be getting many miles in today, so why not have a couple fast miles.  Things felt good.  The soreness above the ankle never went away all together, but did subside somewhat.  Legs in general felt GOOD.  Lots of water, NO soda, and a few days recover after Sat and legs are feeling good.

This link has a cool video that really made me think about "worlds without number" Moses 1:33-35, 38

PS - I keep forgetting to tell everyone about the running with the bulls (ok, cows) at Hobble Creek Half .  I was running down the canyon and from the right side there was two cows that bolted across the street and up the side of the hill on the left.  Then about 100 yards later a younger cow bolts out on the street gets scared of the runners and turns around back down the side of the road, well that caused the calf to panic, when it an the mom emurged out of the brush to cross the street, mom was ANGRY, she had her angry voice on and mooooo'd angry and right at all of us.  I thought she was going to stand and fight.  Luckly she wanted out of there as much as we did.

Didn't get out until like 1 pm, and it was HOT.  Ok, not for walking, maybe not

for those of you in good condition, but I was about ready to die.  Ok, that may

be an exaggeration, but I was baking.  Called it good at 4 miles.  :-)

Went to Logan and supported Kelly and her friend for their last big hard training rides before the LOTOJA race on the 12th.  They rode the 3 main peaks for the course, about 90 miles of the 200+ route.  I think they are going to do very good.

I went out ahead of them on one of the peaks and ran down 2 miles and then back up to the car.  Added an extra mile of flat at the top.

Then I went out ahead of them and parked the car at Montpelier ID and got another 2 miles in before they got there.

End of an easy week.  Next week will be about 10 more than this week.  Hopefully I will be feeling better.

Have a great day!
