Stay healthy!

Would like to BQ - need to shave 23 minutes off PR.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running.

When I started running my wish that turned into a goal was to qualify for Boston. Just so I could say "I qualified for Boston."

AFTER BQ, I think I will do some Tri events.  For sure some Half Ironman events, and see where that takes me.

Married to Kelly (with a 'Y')

I sure didn't want to get out of bed today!  My legs are still sore from Sat.  I am still bummed with my training/focus/performance Sat.

Run today went well.  I wanted to turn around at mile 2.5 and again at 3 and again at 4.  One of the things I think I have allowed is cutting planned workouts short.  This has allowed my mind to quit when I shouldn't.  (like at Hobble Creek)

I was trying to keep the pace as close to 8 as possible.  I'm really shocked how sore my legs are!  I ran 20 miles two Saturdays and then all week I have felt like I am coming down with something, my legs were sore after Monday's run and for the rest of the week. Today, two days after Hobble Creek they hurt to straighten out and to go down stairs is horrible.  Oh well.

ON a positive note, Kelly and I got our letters from the first Pres Saturday.  YEAH!!!!!  Now we can set a date and move forward!!!!!!!!  YeeeeeeeHAW.  We are thinking Oct 16.   SWEEEEEET.

Hey! Don't you need to post a race report or something? Inquiring minds want to read it!

From Jon A on Mon, Aug 24, 2009 at 13:35:03 from 67.214.249.195

Thanks Maurine, I'll post that darn race report later today. I need to get a positive mind set about it. :-)

Dude! Where is the race report man?! Get on the stick...I want all(or most) of the gory details. I chose not to run my race and ended up volunteering to help out instead.

From Smooth on Mon, Aug 24, 2009 at 17:29:45 from 71.36.70.24

YAY! YAHOO!!! WOOHOO!!! Why didn't you guys come and tell me about your GREAT NEWS at the Temple dedication? I can't wait to tell Larry!

OCT 16 is a sweet day...happens to be my official birthday. :) It's also Fall break and two weeks after SGM.

What can I do to help? I am so excited for you! SO VERY VERY HAPPY!!!

K, about the sore legs, do lotsa stretching and yoga. Run slow and easy for active recovery or at least till the soreness is gone. Good luck!

Smooth, I looked for you after, but you took off. I spoke to Pres Smooth prior to doors opening and he was excited, he said he got notice of Kelly's letter.

We are very very excited. Do you know/have any cheap catering idea's/contacts? I can't wait.

I tried to take the miles easy today. I will keep it that way this week. Thanks for the advice! :-)

From jun on Tue, Aug 25, 2009 at 10:54:49 from 66.239.250.209

Great news. I got rejected the first time I applied. While it was expected, we were still disheartened. But we stayed with it, went to the temple every week, and a year later had no issues what so ever. I'm very happy for you guys and wish you the best.

From Jon A on Tue, Aug 25, 2009 at 13:19:04 from 67.214.249.195

Marion - Thank you, and we are looking forward to seeing you for Onion Days.

Jun - I'm glad you got approval. I don't know what we would have done if the approval didn't come through. We have been going to the Temple weekly as well. Did you wait a year to get married then? I'm so glad you guys finally got through. YEAH for you!!!

From jun on Tue, Aug 25, 2009 at 13:25:54 from 66.239.250.209

Yes, we waited. It was an amazing long and yet good 16 month engagement.

From Jon A on Tue, Aug 25, 2009 at 13:28:25 from 67.214.249.195

Oh my gosh Jun! You are amazing. I think I would have to be put into a coma to make it that long. You guys are awesome!
