Would like to BQ - need to shave 23 minutes off PR.
Long-Term Running Goals: Keep running.
When I started running my wish that turned into a goal was to qualify for Boston. Just so I could say "I qualified for Boston."
AFTER BQ, I think I will do some Tri events. For sure some Half Ironman events, and see where that takes me. Personal: Married to Kelly (with a 'Y')

| Ran the library route. This is just opposite of the way I have been running. Going the other way there is a gradual uphill for the last .8 of the first mile, then a fairly good downhill. The way I went today I figured it would let me get some flat miles in for some warmup. It feels like it worked. My achellies is feeling "ok". There is some soreness lingering back there, but nothing like it has been. Smooth reccommended that I use a foam roller and roll my ITB. So last night I borrowed Kelly's foam roller. OUCH that is all I can say. That darn thing hurts. BUT, I will do that thing all the time if I need to! I'll try it for a few days and see how things go.

| Ran Provo Canyon. Rolled my IT and legs last night. Things felt ok. Achilles was sore from mile 2.5, but never got worse. Held a pretty good pace 7:26. That includes the cool down mile. (8:02). Tried to hold a faster pace on the next to last mile.

| Ran the canal road again. This time I drove over to where I would miss the one "hill" that is on that road. I wanted to see how things would go with my achilles and ITB on a flat softer surface. Did pretty good. Could feel my achilles a little 1 maybe 2 out of 10. Nothing now hours after. I'm headed up to support Kelly on a bike ride in Logan tomorrow. I'll try and get as many miles as possible up that way. Have a great weekend.

Splits (7:37, 7:02, 7:38, 6:58, 7:39, 7:23) Oh, I tried something a little different, not sure how it will help or effect things. But I got to thinking that sometimes I loose focus and forget that I'm trying to keep my speed up, and sometimes trying to keep my speed up for a full mile is very hard. SO, I changed my watch to track half miles. That way I get a little beep when I hit a half mile and I can see my time for that half. So, here are my last three miles (changed the watch half way through this run) with .5 mile times. (3:30, 3:28, 3:53, 3:46, 3:48, 3:35). I figured that in the future I could try for 3:20, then rest (3:45-3:50), then 3:15, rest, 3:10.....til I get 3:00. I don't know, I'm just playing around. Someday I'll get serious. :-)

| I was the support crew for Kelly and Wendy (Kelly's best friend) at the Little Red Ridding Hood bike race. They went 100 miles. They kicked some serious trash. They were part of the first place group. Fun stuff. As a result of being the only support crew I was unable to get much running in. Did find some time for a couple 1 mile out and backs.
