Short-Term Running Goals:

Stay healthy!

Would like to BQ - need to shave 23 minutes off PR.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running.

When I started running my wish that turned into a goal was to qualify for Boston. Just so I could say "I qualified for Boston."

AFTER BQ, I think I will do some Tri events.  For sure some Half Ironman events, and see where that takes me.

Ran Provo Canyon.  Rolled my IT and legs last night.  Things felt ok.  Achilles was sore from mile 2.5, but never got worse.  Held a pretty good pace 7:26.  That includes the cool down mile. (8:02).  Tried to hold a faster pace on the next to last mile.

That is ridiculously fast.

Dude, I'm just trying to keep up with YOU!

Nice run.

Jon, Stop running so stinkin' fast and that will ease up the knee :) Looks like you've given up on the HR moniter. I think I will too and just go by effort level.

From Jon A on Wed, Jun 03, 2009 at 15:08:31 from 67.214.249.195

Jeff, I haven't given up on the HR, I just don't post that data. But, since you ask, here is today:

Mile Pace Max Pace HR-Ave HR-Max

1 7:46 6:45 155 167

2 7:28 6:51 165 172

3 7:22 6:09 163 171

4 7:13 6:34 160 166

5 6:45 5:23 165 171

6 8:02 7:06 161 170

Now if I can figure out how to use it. Effort? Mile 2, 3 and 5 hit maxs. 2 and half of 3 was more uphill. Mile 5 is a little down/flat. Hum. Looks like my effort level should be 170 - 172 bpm for a 7:20 pace or better regardless of hill (within reason). Makes my brain hurt. :-)

WOW! Check out that 6:45 and best at 5:23! You're a speed demon! GREAT JOB! Keep it up!

From Jon A on Wed, Jun 03, 2009 at 16:49:49 from 67.214.249.195

Thanks Smooth, but don't be fooled. I won't deny I worked hard for the 6:45 average and even shook my fist in the air when I saw that on my watch. But the "5:23", well that was when I jumped off a cliff and the GPS caught my free fall. :-)

Just kidding, wouldn't that be cool if I could run that speed for a whole mile? Wow.
