Stay healthy!

Would like to BQ - need to shave 23 minutes off PR.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running.

When I started running my wish that turned into a goal was to qualify for Boston. Just so I could say "I qualified for Boston."

AFTER BQ, I think I will do some Tri events.  For sure some Half Ironman events, and see where that takes me.

AM: Ran 5 miles, using part of the Smiths route and the school 3 mile route.  First time this year I have run by myself for more than 5 miles.  Felt tired the WHOLE time.  Legs felt like a ton of bricks.  I really had to mentally tell myself I could do it.  I'll add some more of some sort of cardio tonight.  Probably bike some hard miles with Kelly.  We have determined that she most likely has a stress fracture at the base of her second toe.  :-(  She isn't liking the fact that she will have to take some time off from running.

I need to get some new shoes.  These Nimbus push on my third toe on the right foot and make it rub against the second toe.  Today I got home and  had bled through my sock and I could see the blood on the outside top of the shoe.  :-(  Only a little bit of pain, nothing that a band aid won't solve until I get some new shoes.

Have a great day!

Just read through all your runs last week and this week! NICE runs with intervals, strides and rides.

I'm so sorry Kelly has a stress fracture on her toe. Hope it heals up fast.

I've bloodied my socks on the exact toes before...nut'n serious...make sure new shoes have plenty of room in the toe box though.

Please tell Kelly "HAPPY belated birthday from me!"

We need to get together for another Sat. run.

Smooth, I'll tell her.

YES, we need to get together. We are taking Bailey up to BYU-I this weekend, maybe the weekend after? I think we are supposed to be 18 though, and if you run Des News you may not be up for all of that. We'll see, hopefully Kelly's foot is doing better and she can do that.

I am not running DNews. I am good for 16-18 next weekend. Hopefully with some rest Kelly's foot will be good to go next week.

Bailey's starting school there already? Such a smart girl! Must be hard to send your first child off to college. Best wishes to all of you. Have a safe drive and wonderful Pioneer Day weekend!

Thanks Smooth, we will have a good weekend. Kelly is having a hard time with Bailey going. I'm excited for her and the opportunities that are ahead of her.

We are needing 18, maybe you can suggest a flat route. I'm worried Kelly is going to hurt her foot more. I told her last night she may have to take two weeks or more off. She didn't like that.

Bailey will do wonderful at BYU-I. It's always harder on the mother.

May be we can run the JRP in Lehi. I heard the trail is opened all the way to the lake.

Teena's group has been running the JRP in West Jordan, it's flat with lots a parks, not as much bugs as the Lehi JRP. I think Kelly would like that trail. If she had to cut it short, she could wait at one of the parks. They've been going at 5am to avoid the heat.

Maybe we should try that part of the JRP. I have never run up north of the windmills. How long of a drive to get to a good start place?

From Smooth on Thu, Jul 22, 2010 at 14:35:51 from 174.23.218.43

The place I usually accessed is on 7000 S just east of 1300 W. I take the 72nd South exit on I-15. It is about a 20-25 min drive. I can drive us there.

I will let Teena knows too. she sends out a *Chumps* email notification of their Sat. Run.

The Chumps are not doing group run this Sat b/c of Pioneer Day and some are racing DNews. so she and I are running on a different trail.

Fun, what are you guys going to run Sat?

From Smooth on Fri, Jul 23, 2010 at 00:29:27 from 174.23.218.43

We are planning on 20 on the other side of the mountain.

Jon ~ Larry decided to take the next few days off...so we're heading to Yellowstone tomorrow (Wed) and driving home on Sat. I am bummed that I won't be able to run with Kelly this Sat. on the JRP in West Jordan. But you can still run with Teena and her group. I will tell her to PM you on their Sat. plan.

Hope you had a great trip to BYU-I. We will be passing thru there tomorrow!

From Jon A on Tue, Jul 27, 2010 at 13:46:39 from 67.214.249.195

Fun!

We may go run the JRP regardless. I don't know how far Kelly will be able to go. Her foot is still pretty sore, so flat routes will be the way to go.

Have a GREAT time in Yellowstone!
