Stay healthy!

Would like to BQ - need to shave 23 minutes off PR.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running.

When I started running my wish that turned into a goal was to qualify for Boston. Just so I could say "I qualified for Boston."

AFTER BQ, I think I will do some Tri events.  For sure some Half Ironman events, and see where that takes me.

Met up with Marion, Smooth, Kelli and her husband Scott, Britta, Teena, Tarzan, John (husband of Suzzana), Leslie and her husband Harold, and I think I'm missing someone.  I'm sorry.  I am the worst with names.  But it sure was nice meeting everyone.  I think I would be a better runner if I ran with them all the time!

John, Scott and I ran most of the time together until Scott took off and left us.  He is so strong.  I need to do more hill work.

I was fun meeting everyone.  I wish I could have stayed around and socialized.  I had told some friends that I would run the 5k part of the Turkey Tri with them, so I had to get back to Orem by 9.  This was fun and challenging.  There were some beautiful views of the valley when the sun came up.  I hope Harold got some pictures of that, I saw he had his camera.

Jon - it was nice to meet you this morning. Glad you made your other run. We were wondering where you zipped off too. Harold got a few pictures - we missed you for our group photo at the end.

From marion on Sat, Nov 01, 2008 at 11:50:51

Thanks for coming Jon! I was bummed you had gone before I poked back in! Great run!!!

From jona on Sat, Nov 01, 2008 at 12:01:03

I'm bummed I couldn't stay around. It sure was good to meet everyone.

From Kelli on Sat, Nov 01, 2008 at 12:47:02

I think John was Wendy's husband, the one you forgot (we will not tell her!!)

See, you need to run with us more often, but next time stay for breakfast (the pumpkin muffins were very good)! That was what it was all about. Plus, I did not even get to say HI.

I told ya you need to run with Scott, they will be no more chicking if you hang out with him. Oh, wait, I have actually chicked him, too! But not in a long time.

From jona on Sat, Nov 01, 2008 at 13:06:37

I wish I would have stayed. I just couldn't no show on the other run, they were expecting me. I should have run slower, then I could have used it as an excuse that I wasn't done with the first run.

It was very fun to run with the group. Scott is one driven runner!

I hope we can do that again. Soon!

From Kelli on Sat, Nov 01, 2008 at 13:08:37

That is an understatement.

From Kelli on Sat, Nov 01, 2008 at 13:10:22

Oh, wow, you spelled my name wrong there, too! You never spell my name wrong, are you sleepy?

From jona on Sat, Nov 01, 2008 at 13:39:28

I don't know what is up with me. I'm sorry Kelli! How rude.

From Teena on Sat, Nov 01, 2008 at 14:45:40

John-- (just kidding Jon)

Pretty snazzy (is that a real word) how you put your Garmin links on your post.

It was great to meet you. Next time you'll have to plan to socialize with all of us at the end for twice as long to make up for today!

What a great run.

From jona on Sat, Nov 01, 2008 at 14:55:14

Teena, good one on the spelling. I have some teasing coming for that!

It was good to meet you too. I hope we do another run soon, I'm bummed I didn't get to stay and talk!!!

AGREE 100% GREAT RUN!

From leslie on Sat, Nov 01, 2008 at 16:06:37

It was great to meet you Jon! Check out my blog for a couple of pictures harold too. Next time you need to stay for the photo shoot!!!

From britta on Sat, Nov 01, 2008 at 16:56:42

Wow I am totally impressed you remembered that many names. Great to meet you!

From jona on Sat, Nov 01, 2008 at 23:55:01

Leslie, thank you for getting those photo's up. I will stick around next time!!!!!

Britta, I think I got names/spouse wrong/mixed up. Not intentional, sorry to those that I did. I was excited to go out with the group today, I look forward to the next time. You and Teena sure had a good run! I was worried I would be getting chicked by you two.

From Smooth on Sun, Nov 02, 2008 at 18:00:58

Jon. It was good to see you in the dark for a second. You were gone like a flash. What a speedster. Wow, you ran almost 11 miles then zipped back to do a 5K.

Very impressive!!!

Cool how you link your Garmin workout on your blog. How do you do that? I'm very IT challenged ...typing is hard enough.

O yeah, I heard about your races where you ALMOST got chicked (is that a real word? what does it mean anyway) by Kelli. LOL

From jona on Mon, Nov 03, 2008 at 00:56:28

Smooth,

It was nice to meet you too. Scott pushed me good on that run, I hope that I did that for those that I went and ran the 5k with. They ask me to run it so that they had a rabbit out there. I was tired, but managed to pull out in front and make them chase me.

The link thing is easty, just bellow and to the right of the "Underline" icon when your entering your blog, you will see a icon that is like a globe and a chain link across it. Highlight the word you want to link then click that icon. Type your link in address box provided. (like www.google.com).

Chicking: Well, I don't think its a real word. It is when a girl (chick) passes a boy runner. Boys are "supposedly" faster. HA! What I know is at least three of the women at the run Saturday have run a marathon faster than me. :-) Yeah for them!

From Kelli on Wed, Nov 05, 2008 at 17:26:04

OH BOY----are you being lazy???

From Teena on Wed, Nov 05, 2008 at 17:27:30

I was wondering the same thing!

From jona on Wed, Nov 05, 2008 at 19:12:50

Yes. I am. What a slacker. I will have something to report here in a couple hours. Thanks for checking on me ladies.
