Short-Term Running Goals:

Stay healthy!

Would like to BQ - need to shave 23 minutes off PR.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running.

When I started running my wish that turned into a goal was to qualify for Boston. Just so I could say "I qualified for Boston."

AFTER BQ, I think I will do some Tri events.  For sure some Half Ironman events, and see where that takes me.

Went running with Kelly and her friends.  They told they would be doing 9 so I ran from Kelly's house to the friends house that we were starting at, about 3.75 miles.  Those first miles by myself were about 8:08 pace.  Net elevation gain was about 500 feet. Stuck with the group the rest of the time.  There were some good hills, both up and down.  Pushed harder on the ups and let it loose on the downs.  My fastest down was 13.5 mph, that was on the 11th mile.  That was fun, really let gravity do its job.  In mile 5 I hit 13.4 mph.

Fun run, I'm more tired today than I was last week.  Legs are feeling it!!!

Wow - 3 workouts in a week. For you, that is impressive. How is the foot today?

From jona on Sat, Jan 24, 2009 at 16:26:33

Marion - I WILL! I'm sure she will say hello back.

Maurine - Thanks. I know its horrible that 3 workouts is a lot for me. I need to do better.

Foot and knee are feeling better. I totally blame those trail shoes. Probably won't wear those ever again. :)

Man alive DB ... you were putting some fast paces in!! Crazy fast!!

Wish I could have your speed on three workouts a week.

From Smooth on Sun, Jan 25, 2009 at 11:47:40

WOW! 13.5 mph???!!! That's CRAZY CRAZY FAST!!! I'm not worthy to be in the unofficial LBK. Did you run up to Alpine again? Please say HELLO to Kelly for me. Are you guys doing Spectrum in March?

From jona on Sun, Jan 25, 2009 at 13:12:40

EASY everyone!!!! 13.5 was just a short burst of speed going DOWN a HILL. Did you miss the part I wrote "really let gravity do its job." In other words I walked up to a cliff and jumped down. :-) No, seriously big down section, I relaxed and let loose! It wasn't for long, longest section MAY have been .25 miles.

Kelly says hello.

We are deciding if OUR schedules can do Spectrum in March. It looks like we will but have to clear up a couple things for sure.

Smooth, we ran in Alpine, I ran from Kelly's to Alpine (part way up Suncrest.) That sure is beautiful up there!

Nice work. I just want to get up to that distance. I wouldn't care how long it took me.
