Short-Term Running Goals:

Stay healthy!

Would like to BQ - need to shave 23 minutes off PR.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running.

When I started running my wish that turned into a goal was to qualify for Boston. Just so I could say "I qualified for Boston."

AFTER BQ, I think I will do some Tri events.  For sure some Half Ironman events, and see where that takes me.

Married to Kelly (with a 'Y')

Went over to the JRP and ran with Scott & Kelli, Smooth, Walter, John (neighbor of Smooth), and Rachel.  John and ran together for a few miles (9-10).  Was really good to run with others.  When the whole group was running at the start to warm up I mentioned that I had spoken more in that few minutes than I had on all my runs in the previous week combined.

Run was good.  I felt tired, a little sore.  I went slower than  usual.  Oh, time for new shoes.  I can feel the spring in the shoes has gone bye bye.

Kelly did AWESOME on her bike ride.  I was able to find her on the route over on the west side of UT lake.  Her team came in 1st.  Kelly had a great ride, she was feeling really good and was able to help her other teammates several times when they were struggling.

Have a great weekend!

From RAD on Sun, Aug 09, 2009 at 22:55:22 from 76.27.12.70

It was great to 'run' into you again! Tell Kelly congrats, that is SO awesome! She is one amazing lady, you're luck to have her :)

From Jon A on Mon, Aug 10, 2009 at 02:07:29 from 76.27.81.31

Hey Jeff, Yes, there was a pace. I was a little slow so I left it off. :-) It was 8:21. I did have some miles that were good. Here are the splits:

9:13, 9:02, 8:36, 8:46, 8:35, 8:55, 8:07, 8:16, 8:42, 7:40, 7:56, 7:31, 8:34, 7:53, 8:00, 8:14, 8:08, 8:03

Probably a little to much chit chatting.

Rachel, Yes I am very lucky to have a great girl like Kelly. Something I don't take lightly! It was good to run along with you too.

Dude! Come on now...8:21 was my marathon pace!! My fastest pace on a long run was 8:46.

You are a stud runner man! That's wheels right there...you will nail your marathon goal time, that's my prediction.

Was Kelly doing the ULCER?

Good job on your training. How go the wedding plans?

From Jon A on Mon, Aug 10, 2009 at 11:49:48 from 67.214.249.195

Jeff, stop being funny. I am feeling better about my ability to "finish." There for awhile I was thinking that I may never be able to get back up to the millage that would pull me into the end. But now I did 18, I think I could figure out how to get another 8-9. (time not being a factor)

From Jon A on Mon, Aug 10, 2009 at 11:56:07 from 67.214.249.195

Maurine, Yep Kelly did ULCER, her team took first place.

Wedding plans are slow right now. We are waiting for the OK from the church so we can get married in the temple. As soon as we hear that ok, we will set a date.

From Smooth on Mon, Aug 10, 2009 at 12:05:38 from 71.36.65.206

Jon,

I am SO PROUD OF YOU!!! YAY you got the 18 under your belt (er shoes)! Thanks for running with John. He's a quiet one and was looking for someone to run with. It's good of you to stay with him.

A HUGE CONGRATS to Kelly on taking 1st place. She is AWESOME!!! You two are a perfect match. Can't wait for "the letter" to arrive so you can move forward with your wedding plans. Tell her I wish her GOOD LUCK at LOTOJA!!!

Thanks Smooth. It was good to run with others. Speaking of that, what is everyone doing this Sat? I need 20 if anyone is getting together.

From Kelli on Tue, Aug 11, 2009 at 20:15:47 from 71.219.82.15

AWESOME JOB KELLY!!!! That is so cool, I can not imagine getting a first place in a big ole race!!

It was good to see you again, it has been a while!!!
