Short-Term Running Goals:

Stay healthy!

Would like to BQ - need to shave 23 minutes off PR.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running.

When I started running my wish that turned into a goal was to qualify for Boston. Just so I could say "I qualified for Boston."

AFTER BQ, I think I will do some Tri events.  For sure some Half Ironman events, and see where that takes me.

Wanted to run with Kelly, but she was only going to run 5,6,7 miles depending how she felt, so I got up early and drove up to her area and ran 5 before Kelly and her crew started, then ran with them.  Kelly's knee is still bothering her, so she went about 3 miles when pain told her to stop.  I'm glad she called it quits.  That is a hard thing to do when your with others and your brain tells you that you can keep going.  Finished up with about 7.5 on the second half.

The first part of the second half we were running on some trails up against the mountains in Alpine.  That was fun.  They will be fun to run in the spring/fall when all the trees have leaves.  The last couple of those miles were streets heading back to Kelly's friend Wendy's home.

All in all good day of running.

Sounds like a good run, Jon. Glad you had a fun time.

4 times in a week - very impressive!

Ah Maurine, are you mocking me? 4 times in a week. What a slacker I am. I'm making some progress. :-) You are impressive with all the big miles you put in!!!!!

No mocking - glad to see you getting more consistent.

I put in big miles so I don't get a big butt.

We miss you and Kelly and Wendy on Sat. Sorry to hear Kelly's knee is still bothering her. Hopefully a few rest days will take care of that and she's good to go at Spectrum.

I love running in Alpine. Where about are the trails you ran on? I have wondered about the dirt trail that goes over to the other side of the county at Corner Canyon. I think mountain bikers use that trail.

Sounds like you had a fun day running. Was it windy for you? SR 92 was very windy that morning. Have a great week!

Hey Smooth, I missed running with you guys.

Kelly's knee is coming along slow. I hope I can convince her to stop when it starts to get bad. I'm worried she is going to push through all pain at Spectrum. I know its frustrating for her, the rest of her body says go and that says stop.

We ran some trails that are over at the North East edge of Alpine. They are used a lot by mountain bikers. Looks like the trails go all over the foothills and up the mountains. I'm sure I will get more chances to run them. Will have to get some distances mapped out and have a trail running get together.
