Short-Term Running Goals:

Stay healthy!

Would like to BQ - need to shave 23 minutes off PR.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running.

When I started running my wish that turned into a goal was to qualify for Boston. Just so I could say "I qualified for Boston."

AFTER BQ, I think I will do some Tri events.  For sure some Half Ironman events, and see where that takes me.

Married to Kelly (with a 'Y')

Ran with Kelly and her running friends.  We went up to Lambert Park, and got some trails in.

I learned something about my watch.  I can't leave it attached to the charger while not plugged into the electric outlet.  It drained the battery - DEAD.  So, no data for me.  Another GPS indicated we went 8.7 miles.  I'm sure the time was slow, but enjoyed the company and the scenery!

The rest of the day was nice.  Rested by a pool and got a little to much sun on the legs.

Have a great day!

Sounds like a great Memorial Day to me. We just had a BBQ up at the inlaws. Very relaxing.

After the marathon I've got to get back to some trail running. Is that Kelly in your pic?

Jefferey, Yep that is Kelly. That was the first 5k for the tri. Then she rode her bike for a few miles (I think it was 14) then ran another 5k. She would have rather rode her bike for another 50 miles than run that second 5k. :-)

So was it a duathlon (run, bike, run) or a triathlon (swim, run, bike, run)? I want to look into duathlons because I am not a big fan of swimming. Ask Kelly with a y for some suggestions on that since you aren't asking other things. (just teasing).

Fun stuff, Jon! be careful with the Garmin, they are touchy! Scott and I both killed ours on the same day and it was a nightmare getting them to work again (I am not even sure what finally did it---maybe it was all of the bad words I was slinging at the darn things!)

Good job my friend. Next time round that number up to 9 and run longer on the next run! jk I hate when my watch dies on me.

Maurine, it was supposed to be a tri, the swim got canceled due to dangerous water conditions, so they added an extra 5k. I haven't seen a lot of dou's, but I know they are out there. If I come across one I'll make sure to tell you.

Kelli, Tyler - I'm amazed how dependent I am on that darn Garmin.
