Short-Term Running Goals:

Stay healthy!

Would like to BQ - need to shave 23 minutes off PR.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running.

When I started running my wish that turned into a goal was to qualify for Boston. Just so I could say "I qualified for Boston."

AFTER BQ, I think I will do some Tri events.  For sure some Half Ironman events, and see where that takes me.

Married to Kelly (with a 'Y')

Ran on the canal road today.  I was supposed to run yesterday, but had to be to work early and then night was YUCK wind, so ran this morning.  That wind was WOW.  Kelly lost 4 sections of fence.  BENT the posts over.  (She has a vinyl fence).

I was supposed to keep it easy today.  I tried.  I know it wasn't as easy as it should have been, but at least it was closer.

On my second mile I was about .25 into it and realized I was GAINING on a biker.  SOOOOOO, I picked up the pace.  Caught her.  I kinda felt bad, she was struggling, not a "seasoned" biker, to me she seemed like more of a beginner, and I thought "I hope she doesn't get discouraged that a runner passed her."  Is that awful that I thought she was a beginner?  We were on a incline and the wind was in our face, but she was on a road bike and not wearing all the fancy bike clothes......and she just looked like she was having a hard time.  Maybe she was just finishing and she had already ridden 50 miles.  Well, I was excited to have a biker be my "carrot".

On my third mile I was watching this runner come towards me and all of a sudden the runner JUMPED and screamed.  She was on the other side of the road,  I smiled and thought she was trying to stay away from the grasshoppers that are invading the valley, I yelled, "just step on them."  She yelled back "SNAKE!".  "COOL", so I took a run over to that side of the road and found the snake.  Darn, it was dead.  Scared that lady though.

Have a great day!

NOT a very good boy for passing the lady cyclist. What would Kelly(A) say?

That wind was WICKED! Sorry Kelly lost part of her fence. We lost our Red Maple.

That video is FUN! Not that I would recommend it for your upcoming BIG EVENT...perhaps at the party!...the kids would totally love it!!!!

I haven't told Kelly about passing the cyclist. I could never pass Kelly. She says I can on the up hills, but that just isn't so. She is a very strong rider.

Sorry to hear about your Maple tree!
