Short-Term Running Goals:

Stay healthy!

Would like to BQ - need to shave 23 minutes off PR.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running.

When I started running my wish that turned into a goal was to qualify for Boston. Just so I could say "I qualified for Boston."

AFTER BQ, I think I will do some Tri events.  For sure some Half Ironman events, and see where that takes me.

Personal:

Married to Kelly (with a 'Y')

Ran the library 6 mile loop.  There is usually a hill at the 5 mile point but I cut around the hill.  I am hoping I can just run some flat stuff for awhile and see if I can get the left achilles to stop hurting.  So far so good.  No pain today.

Yay to no pain. That is what we like to hear.

Jon - I love your new blog title! How is the planning going?

From Jon A on Wed, Jun 17, 2009 at 16:19:37 from 67.214.249.195

Maurine, I love the new title too! And I agree with the no pain. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Last week was almost the same. After rest days no pain, after run days ----> pain. :-( So, tomorrow/Fri/Sat will be the days to watch.

Planning is going along slow. Blending families, and temple marriages both take time to get done and LOTS of planning. BUT we ARE moving along!

Jon A. you are a speed machine brother! Glad your achilles is doing OK.

How many kids betwixt the 2 of you and what are their ages?

From Jon A on Wed, Jun 17, 2009 at 16:33:13 from 67.214.249.195

Jeff, you just had to ask. :-) We have a BIG family now. 9 kids! Ages: 9 b, 9 g, 11 b, 12 b, 14 g, 15 g, 16 b, 17 g, 18 b. Phewww. I think we have all grades covered next year from 4th except 8th.

My kids live with their mom and come stay with me every other weekend and on Thurs and Sun night.

Will Kelly's kids be living with you 2 after the marriage? Looks like fun trying to find a bed for everybody...I grew up with 7 siblings and one year my bro. and I had to sleep in the attic. Freezing in the winter and an oven in the summer. Seriously HOT and hard to sleep in that stuff!

From Jon A on Wed, Jun 17, 2009 at 16:38:17 from 67.214.249.195

Kelly's kids all live with her. I think we have the bed thing taken care of. We may not have a private bedroom for everyone, but they will have beds and a place to call their own.

That is so cool. I know exactly what you are going through right now. Sometime, I'll have to explain my 16 month engagement.

And this may seem off the wall, but how tall are you? Your slow pace is pretty freaking fast. I wonder if you have super long legs.

Jun - I guess I'm a little taller than average. 6'3" or so. I have pretty long legs, but try and keep the stride in control. Your one to talk about "pretty freaking fast!"

Aaron - I hope you can meet your goals on the marathon, you put in some serious big miles.
