Short-Term Running Goals:

Stay healthy!

Would like to BQ - need to shave 23 minutes off PR.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running.

When I started running my wish that turned into a goal was to qualify for Boston. Just so I could say "I qualified for Boston."

AFTER BQ, I think I will do some Tri events.  For sure some Half Ironman events, and see where that takes me.

Ran an out and back on the canal road.  Felt pretty good.

I got scared by this dog.  It was a miniature Schnauzer, ("they" say they are loyal, but they aren't!) the owner was coming up this hill that is to the side of the canal road, it was "barking" (they must of had the bark removed, which makes it sound awful) but the bark sounded like it was in a back yard a little ways away.  WRONG, 3 feet from me the dog popped up, it wasn't looking like it was going to bite, but boy was it right there.  My heart jumped about 20 bpm.

Anyway, run was good.

Those "yipers" are the worst. They would nip at your heel. Did you give the dog owner the evil eye?

NICE run!

I didn't notice the dog owner until I was past the dog and then she was down the hill walking up to the road.

I didn't fear that he would nip me. Funny, I think my heart jumped 20 bpm, and my stride length increased to VERY long strides. :-)
