Short-Term Running Goals:

Stay healthy!

Would like to BQ - need to shave 23 minutes off PR.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running.

When I started running my wish that turned into a goal was to qualify for Boston. Just so I could say "I qualified for Boston."

AFTER BQ, I think I will do some Tri events.  For sure some Half Ironman events, and see where that takes me.

Nice run.  Tried to make it easy/flat.  My calves are still a little tight/sore from the weight lifting Tues night.  My thought was to have an easy/flat run, but mile 2/3 turned in faster than I was thinking, but flat for the most part.  I tried to hold under a 7:20 on mile 4, but didn't concentrate enough.  My thought was to run fast, then active recover around 7:45, then run fast.  I think what I do/did wrong is I didn't have a start point for the fast sections.  So I need to decide how long my recovery will be and keep an eye on that, because today the recover just kept going and I ended up not meeting my goal time.

Awesome job Jon! You are doing great!

Good job! I'll bet if you have a training partner, you'd nail the cool down pace you want. So hard to stay focus these days! :)

YEP!!! Find myself thinking about other things! :-)

Your warmup, cooldown, and recoveries are so stinkin' fast!!!

You are crazy!!!

Nice job DB! Take it easy on your calves. :)

Thanks TJ, I'm trying to get those warmup/cool downs slower. BUT, there isn't anything here as fast as YOU!

From Teena on Fri, Jul 03, 2009 at 13:38:22 from 67.177.20.13

You are so full of it DB!!!

And just so you know ... I usually don't even turn on my watch the first .5 miles or so. I'm merely jogging at that point ... so so so slowly!!!

You are too fast for your own good!! Too easy for you to start out with such a high speed. :)

Be careful!

I'm just telling the truth TJ! You are so fast. I fear running a race with the likes of you and Kelli. I will have to make sure you start in front of me so I can avoid the inevitable chicking!

I know I need to take it slower, I think about it, but when I'm by myself it is SO hard to not just run.
