Stay healthy!

Would like to BQ - need to shave 23 minutes off PR.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running.

When I started running my wish that turned into a goal was to qualify for Boston. Just so I could say "I qualified for Boston."

AFTER BQ, I think I will do some Tri events.  For sure some Half Ironman events, and see where that takes me.

Married to Kelly (with a 'Y')

I guess I shouldn't count it as 5, I only timed 4.  But as I was cooling down I felt like I should keep going on the nice slow pace, so I added another but had already stopped my watch.

I'm sure looking forward to better weather.  I just don't care for the sub freezing runs.  What a baby.

i don't care for the cold either. hate it, actually. we need summer! anyway, the babies are in their warm beds, not out running in the cold. way to get out and brave the elements.

From jona on Fri, Feb 13, 2009 at 12:30:40

No Allie, I was a baby, I went to the indoor track. Sorry to mis-lead you.

From allie on Fri, Feb 13, 2009 at 12:37:29

haha...still, you got your run in. and only 15 days until march, then things should start warming up...

From jona on Fri, Feb 13, 2009 at 12:44:42

Oh I hope your right Allie. I may see if I can switch over to evening runs. I seem to handle the cold once I've been up and busy for awhile.

People were amazed here in Texas when I would get out at 6am and 40 degrees to run. They couldn't believe I would brave the cold. I was just glad to be that warm after spending the winter in sub-freezing temps.

Now back to the cold.

From Teena on Fri, Feb 13, 2009 at 14:08:44

Of course you should count the fifth mile ...

amen ... we need some warm sunshine.

From jona on Fri, Feb 13, 2009 at 15:35:22

Jun - I can do 40 and even occasionally 30, but this morning it was at most 20. I just don't like that. Oh well, it will change soon.

TJ - But it wasn't timed. Not timed is like not measured. :-) I'm counting it. Just won't calc any pace.....

From Sunnyrun on Fri, Feb 13, 2009 at 18:28:57

Yes count that mile!! I would, but then again I count miles if I think about doing them (not really, but hey theres a idea...)

From jona on Fri, Feb 13, 2009 at 18:36:26

SR - COOL, I'll take that. I was originally thinking I would run 6, maybe 7, but wasn't feeling that hot so I called it good. So I think I'll go change my total to 7. KIDDING!

From Smooth on Fri, Feb 13, 2009 at 18:40:03

Jon, you better get those legs outside. Running in circles is not good for your running parts. Wear tights if your skinny long legs are cold (yes, men do wear tights), layer on top, gloves, beanie and you're good to go. Have a great VDay weekend!!!

From Sunnyrun on Fri, Feb 13, 2009 at 19:21:47

Too funny JA!

Smooth - good call on his skinny long legs.

From Kelli on Fri, Feb 13, 2009 at 19:23:21

Tomorrow is Valentine's Day, that would be a good day. BIG HAPPY SMILE

(I moved the topic to a new day for you.)

From tarzan on Sat, Feb 14, 2009 at 14:42:37

Are you allowed to run both directions? That would sure help.

At least you are getting more consistent.

Now - let us know all about your romantic Valentine's Day. :-)

From Marion on Sat, Feb 14, 2009 at 19:04:23

I HATE THE COLD TOO! Why do we live here again???

From jona on Sun, Feb 15, 2009 at 11:33:50

Smooth & SR - Are you making fun of my skinny legs? Kelly gave me some compression tights (those CWX ones) for a V-day gift. But they are not really for cold days. They have these mesh panels, one on the thigh and one on the calf. Anyway I did run outside yesterday. :-)

Maurine,

They have you run one direction per day. So Fri is clockwise, Sat counter clockwise.

Marion, thanks for the support. I'll try and suck it up more.
