Short-Term Running Goals:

Stay healthy!

Would like to BQ - need to shave 23 minutes off PR.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running.

When I started running my wish that turned into a goal was to qualify for Boston. Just so I could say "I qualified for Boston."

AFTER BQ, I think I will do some Tri events.  For sure some Half Ironman events, and see where that takes me.

Had to switch my "long run" to today, Kelly and I are off to Logan, Kelly is riding LOTOJA tomorrow.

I had to cut the run short by 1.2 miles.  I'll live with it though.  While running I ran into an old friend and his buddy. His buddy said that there is NO way I should run a long, 20 miler, next weekend.  Said it was way to close to SGM.  Hummmmm.  Made me wonder.  Am I being stupid and running a long run to close to the marathon?

Don't have the data on today's, but AP was 7:55, and fastest was 7:10.

Have a great weekend!

You still have three weeks left. Tomorrow seems like a good day for a last long run.

Jon ~ It is OKAY to run your last long run two weeks out. Lots of marathoners do two weeks taper. I ran TOU last year two weeks from SGM. Just take recovery seriously. Hydrate and fuel right during and immediately after the 20 miler. ICE bath, stretch, the first 24 hours, then active recovery (walk, easy bike) next 48-72 hours. YOU WILL BE FINE!

Please send my best wishes and love to Kelly! Can't wait to hear all about her LOTOJA!

Maurine, No go on the long run Saturday. I was BUSY giving Kelly food and support on her LOTOJA ride. :-) That was an all day event.

Smooth, Thanks. I think I will go for a long run Saturday. If I'm feeling good I will go for 20. That should put this week close to 50 for the week. Then its taper city. My right knee was (and still a little now) hurting all weekend. I forget to stretch my ITB, and I think that has caused the pain. I'll pay more attention to that! Thank you for the encouragement!
