Short-Term Running Goals:

Stay healthy!

Would like to BQ - need to shave 23 minutes off PR.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running.

When I started running my wish that turned into a goal was to qualify for Boston. Just so I could say "I qualified for Boston."

AFTER BQ, I think I will do some Tri events.  For sure some Half Ironman events, and see where that takes me.

Got up late, so had to make it a quick (short) run.  I haven't downloaded my watch to the computer yet, so don't know all the splits and things.  Legs were heavy today.  Pain on the achilles from the mileage last week is zero.  Yeah!  So, game plan for this week is to bump the week miles up to something like 35.  Will try and keep the miles flat and build strength in the achilles.

From memory, splits today were something like 7:45, 7:15, 7:25

Thanks Jeff, I sure hope I can get some good speed going like you. You've been awesome lately! Keep it up.

With your training paces you should easily beat my 10K time. Just stay consistent.

From Jon A on Mon, Jun 22, 2009 at 13:40:16 from 67.214.249.195

If I could be consistent, I could start thinking about staying with you mr speed.

Glad the pain is down, now keep it that way!

Also, you might seriously want to consider warming up a bit before you hit those low to mid 7s. I know it is boring to warm-up, but I am convinced that part of the reason I was getting injured so often was because I wasn't properly warming up my muscles first. Just an idea.

You rock DB!

I hear ya TJ, I thought I was warming up on the first mile. :-)

Good start to the week. You are definitely being smarter about how to heal this injury.

From Jon A on Mon, Jun 22, 2009 at 16:06:36 from 67.214.249.195

Jun, I don't know if its smarts. I am not as committed as most of you guys out there so when an injury happens I use the excuse. Maybe someday I will be a real runner, committed and consistent. :-)
