Short-Term Running Goals:

Stay healthy!

Would like to BQ - need to shave 23 minutes off PR.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running.

When I started running my wish that turned into a goal was to qualify for Boston. Just so I could say "I qualified for Boston."

AFTER BQ, I think I will do some Tri events.  For sure some Half Ironman events, and see where that takes me.

Was supposed to do speed work today.  That darn bed held me to long.  I tried once to get out but the bed arms were toooooo strong..  So, with a late start I opted for a basic run and tried to push the pace.  I was successful for 2 miles.  I went slower for the first half of the next two miles and kicked it for the second half, but the slow made the second half splits look SLOW.

Splits: 7:47, 6:56, 6:52, 7:15, 7:11, 7:52

I probably need to concentrate on my warm up and slow down.  OK, I have already gone over that, I DO need to slow it up a bit.  I just SOOOOOO focused in on the overall average pace, so much so that even right now I'm a worried I was tooo slow because all I see is 7:20.  The pace for the middle 4 miles was 7:04, that maybe what I should be focused on.

Time: 44:18
Avg Pace: 7:20 min/mi

Best Pace: 5:32 min/mi

Have a great day!

Darn bed arms! :-D NICE BRPP (basic run pushing pace)! :) You're so funny! Very nice effort on pushing the middle miles. Seriously, I used to worry about the average pace too. I have to remind myself of the purpose of each run and to make sure that I do an adequate warm up slowly and gradually. GOOD JOB getting your run in. Did you get some new shoes?

Thanks Smooth, Nope, no new shoes yet. I think I need to see if Wasatch Running Center has the ones I like.
