Short-Term Running Goals:

Stay healthy!

Would like to BQ - need to shave 23 minutes off PR.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running.

When I started running my wish that turned into a goal was to qualify for Boston. Just so I could say "I qualified for Boston."

AFTER BQ, I think I will do some Tri events.  For sure some Half Ironman events, and see where that takes me.

Ran to the fitness center, 2.73 miles and met Kelly.  She is having the injury bug hit her in a big way this year.  Saturday when we were running she was having knee pain and "powered" through and it has been hurting ever since.  Well tonight she was going to try and run some with me at the fitness center on the outdoor track.  She couldn't.  Walking hurt.  Ughhhh.  So I put 2.5 more miles on the indoor track while she rode the bike.  Then we lifted weights.

Good fast pace for me.  Makes me hopeful that I am making some sort of progress with speed.  I think I will get more endurance as the weather starts to warm.

WOW, check out your pace!!! You're one FAST DEMON! AWESOME run. Sorry to hear about Kelly's knee pain. Hope she gets better real soon. Injury stinks and she doesn't deserve any of that. Sending positive vibes her way.

Yes positive vibes for Kelly and her speedy man Jon. Good run and workout!

Seriously slow down! Not really! I am totally jealous of your speed. Keep it up.

Smooth & SR - Thanks for the good vibs! She/we will take them.

Britta - Seriously, I am worried I will never BQ. According to Sasha' predictor, I have to run a 5k at 6:23 per mile pace to be in good enough condition to run a marathon and BQ. UGH! I'm SLOW compared to what I'm supposed to be at to BQ!!!!!!

Okay, dork (and I mean that in the nicest way) you just called me fast and I can only run one mile at a 7 minute pace (and I almost died). You are cruising!!! I am so excited to see how your races go this year. Now (this is a prerecorded message): Imagine what you could do if you upped your miles?!?

You are awesome!

Sorry Kelly is fighting injury. That stinks. I think everyone falls apart in the winter, but we do not all fall down the stairs. Dang it for her, hope she feels better soon.

Kelli, with your speed, if I want to race in the same race as you I am going to have to start working on running 6 min miles. Dang your fast. And you have endurance.

The chicking continues. Ughhhh.

'Imagine what you could do if you upped your miles?!?' - join the ranks of the injured if you are not careful.

There is hope for you yet, Jon. You just need to settle down with umpteen kids and run while Kelly bikes every day.
