Short-Term Running Goals:

Stay healthy!

Would like to BQ - need to shave 23 minutes off PR.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running.

When I started running my wish that turned into a goal was to qualify for Boston. Just so I could say "I qualified for Boston."

AFTER BQ, I think I will do some Tri events.  For sure some Half Ironman events, and see where that takes me.

Weill, this was planned to be a 20 miler.  Got a late start, then got interrupted with kid problems.  Then had to hustle to a kids football game, then running around all over town getting kids stuff taken care of.  SHAME on me for not getting out of bed!

It was hot when I was running and I had little energy.  Kind of a yucky day.  I hope I can finish the marathon in two weeks!

Some days are like that. It is so hard to find the time to train with kids/family stuff. You are doing GREAT! No worries! You have been training hard. You will do AWESOME.

No worries Mark. Don't laugh to hard at the training.

Very nice bro. Your getting in some great miles and paces to boot. You will do awesome and glad to have you running with us. I ran with Scott and Kelli 2 weeks ago up Provo Canyon. So I know just what your talking about on some of those runs. That head wind was tough. And the gradual incline is perfect training for Veyo. Your splits coming back down are fast and right on pace. So really your looking perfect for a great race and hopefully BQing right along side of the rest of us. Hopefully your ITB wont be a issue for you come race day. So stretch it good and your going to be ready.

Thanks Mark, I think I will do ok. Hobble Creek through me for a loop, but there were some factors with that that made it a hard run. Not the least of which I didn't know I would be running until the day before and then like I told you on the phone I went out to hard. I will have to control that in SG. The other thing I have to watch is energy. I tend to not take in gels/liquid when I run and that comes back to haunt me in the later miles.

From Huans32 on Mon, Sep 21, 2009 at 14:15:19 from 138.64.2.76

Well with the hydration and gels. I am pretty good about doing them and keeping track of it. I will give you another call a bit later and we can figure out just which aid stations we will gu at and which are just drinks k. So that we will finish strong k. I will have to look at your hobble creek race. Didn't read that one.

Ah yep. That is where you errored like I did at Striders half last year. Went out way to fast and ended up walking on the little hills around the lake. I just finished running a 20 miler at 7:46 the weekend before and wondered what happend. And same thing. First 4-5 miles way to fast and crashed and burned. But the good thing about it is that you learned a good lesson there in your half. And hopefully we wont repeat in the full. That pace is way to fast that early and we will do great. Your going to do awesome being in the group.
