Short-Term Running Goals:

Stay healthy!

Would like to BQ - need to shave 23 minutes off PR.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running.

When I started running my wish that turned into a goal was to qualify for Boston. Just so I could say "I qualified for Boston."

AFTER BQ, I think I will do some Tri events.  For sure some Half Ironman events, and see where that takes me.

Started the day thinking it would be nice to get 12-15 in.  Probably should set my sites on a specific distance and do that.

Met Scott & Kelli, Allan (I think that is his name), Smooth, Rachel, and Becca at the JRP.  Was nice to see everyone and have people to run with.

I'm really feeling the lack of weekday miles.  I hit the hills on the North end of our route and just about died.  I told Scott that Wed I had lifted weights for the first time in MONTHS and I concentrated on my legs.  I was feeling it BIG time.  My mind gave out on me about mile 8, so struggled to get into the 10 spot, ran slow for a mile, then ran with the group.  Had given up and was going to get in the car and go home and decided I should push myself a little so went on part of the South side with the group.

Someday I may decide to be a runner.  I'm having BIG mental blocks right now.  My mind is just not in the (this) game.

On my way home I decided to surprise Kelly and see if I could leave a treat in her car for when she returns from her bike ride.  One of her car doors was unlocked and I put the treats in the car.  As I shut the door I heard all the doors lock.  NOOOOOOOO, I wonder if she had hidden her key inside and now I have locked her out.  Sooooo, called her, had to ruin the surprise, luckly she had her key, the door was open by mistake.  Darn!  Surprised ruined.  :-(

You sound like a runner to me. Anyone who can push themselves after doing 10 miles still has a level of commitment most normal people don't. Don't second guess yourself.

That being said, if you ever have a desire to peak bag or rock climb (bouldering mostly) let me know. I'd be happy to have you join the crew.

It is the thought that counts!!!

You are a runner, da!

Great to see you this morning and thanks for the "new" computer. You are awesome!

Hmmm I wonder what Game your mind is in?

Does it start with a K?

From Smooth on Sat, Feb 21, 2009 at 18:06:36

Yah, Kelly wasn't there on the trail...that's why. YOU ARE A REAL RUNNER. If you're not, that means I'm a jogger. You better watch it and make up your mind that YOU ARE A GREAT, AWESOME, SUPER DUPER, FANTASTIC, EXCELLENT RUNNER!!!!!!!!!!

Kelly, you tell him! It's better coming from you.

O, I'm sure Kelly's heart leapt with joy to hear your voice, ruining surprise or not. I LOVE surprises. Pres. Smooth doesn't do surprises!

How sweet of you to think of your lovely lady. (Good thing she had a key - and maybe you saved her from a burglary).

You are a runner. You are! Great job.

Funny about the surprise!!

You two are too cute!! LOVE IT!!

Jon, it was fun to chat this morning (saturday). Okay, I guess I'm a little late on missing the whole relationship with Kelly thing. I noticed you were in the hot discussions and got caught up on it all. The first Sat I met you Kelly was there and someone made a comment about you wanting to 'catch up to cute Kelly' and I thought there was something brewing, but little did I know! DUH!!! Anyway now that I've admitted I'm an idiot I'll get on with it. I have to ditto Smooth...if you're not a runner I'd hate to find out what I am! You are so speedy, don't even discredit yourself! Have a great weekend and good luck with all the 'work' you have in front of you on the M front :) Sounds like it shouldn't be too hard to come to a mutual agreement. Oh yeah, thanks for the 'magic beans' I actually went and bought some when I was at SL Running co Sat afternoon, because they were definately tolerable!
