Short-Term Running Goals:

Stay healthy!

Would like to BQ - need to shave 23 minutes off PR.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running.

When I started running my wish that turned into a goal was to qualify for Boston. Just so I could say "I qualified for Boston."

AFTER BQ, I think I will do some Tri events.  For sure some Half Ironman events, and see where that takes me.

Married to Kelly (with a 'Y')

Ran up in Lehi/Alpine today.  Was a fairly random run, just went here and there.

Ran with Kelly and Deb.  Was fun.  Ok time.  Had some walking time so the pace was slower than what it should have been.

You got the miles in ... it's all good!

(getting any sleep yet?)

Jon!!!

What time was that when you ran with Kelly and Deb? Sounds like a fun one. That's a pretty fast pace for walking some.

Teena, getting some sleep. Probably should get more, ........ nay. :-)

Smooth, we started about 8:30 up by Debs house. We ran down then back up part of Suncrest and around Smiths. We'll have to see about getting you in the runs!

Jon,

I'd love that. Who's Deb? Is she Kelly's friend? Does she live behind the Church? Can't wait to meet Kelly on Sat. Is she car-pooling w/ you guys?

I love running up Suncrest. That road is wide with great hill training. It's 12-13 miles round trip. Lotsa cyclists in the summer.

How was the road condition in the Alpine neighborhood? I like to run up the Alpine Canyon for a 16-18 miler.

Let me know when you and the girls are running again. We can form our LBK and you can be the honorary LBK; or may be we should call you DBK (DB King)

Smooth, Deb lives in Alpine, about 2-3 miles up Suncrest and to the east about a mile. (Close to 6000W)

Where do you turn around when you go up Suncrest? I think I will run up there more!

Would be fun to start our own "BK" group. I will loose Kelly to the bike come better weather. But she said she is happy to ride loops around while I run.

We are driving down separate. Kelly and I have a couple commitments Fri am and don't think we can get out when the carpool goes. Kelly is excited to meet everyone

Jon,

I turn around at the very top where the road sign points to go to Draper. It's a nice climb. Kelly can ride her bike up and zoom back down.

9:01 with walking as still quite impressive! Great job, JON.

From jona on Mon, Jan 12, 2009 at 16:52:09

Thanks Kelli, I did have some 7:35, 7:40 miles in there. I think I had 4-5 miles that were 8:20 or less. The walking stuff will go away when better weather comes along for my fair weather friends. The cold/inversion/haze effects Kelly's lungs, and she only does one 8-9 mile run a week at most. So she was struggling. I'm just happy that I'm getting winter running in. Better than I have ever done before. :-)

And happy that you have someone SPECIAL to run with! Does Kelly have asthma??? It really is hard to breathe out there sometimes. The more you do it, the easier it gets (but I am not sure that is the case with asthma).
