Stay healthy!

Would like to BQ - need to shave 23 minutes off PR.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running.

When I started running my wish that turned into a goal was to qualify for Boston. Just so I could say "I qualified for Boston."

AFTER BQ, I think I will do some Tri events.  For sure some Half Ironman events, and see where that takes me.

Ran up Provo Canyon 6.5 and turned around.  Wish I would have stopped at 6.  (12 for the day)  Running up the last .5 hurt my left leg.  My achilles and IT were just hurting.  Toughed out the last miles, still had good time, but leg is hurting!  I think I will take it easier this next week and see if I can get these problems to go away.  By easy  I mean I will not really do much if anything trying to speed up the pace, and maybe take a few miles off.

Was thinking about everyone running Ogden, was glad to see the reports come in.  Congratulations to all!

Take a well deserved step back week. Your legs would thank you. I like the new pics. Where was that taken?

Smooth, your nice, my legs haven't been working hard, just rebelling getting into action again. I'm sure I will work through the rough stuff.

That picture is taken during Kelly's tri the week before last. I was just pacing her. I think she would have done better without me.

jona,

looks like you are just a bit faster than I am overall. Sounds like a full time job with 5 young uns and being single!

How did you post that from your garmin? That's awesome! I want to be able to do that too. Guess I will have to read the manual(hate that).

What's your next marathon planned?

jeffery,

I have the Garmin 405, I upload my workouts to Garmin Connect. From there you can just copy the link from the details page for a given activity. You can also share it to some blogs, or facebook. Its not hard, but only certain Garmin' upload to Garmin Connect. I hope they find some way to get data from the older devices. I bought my girlfriend the 305 for Christmas and hers doesn't connect to Garmin Connect. I like the features of GC better than the program that is on the computer.

I only have St George planned. But have been thinking of trying to be ready for Des News.

I will be up in the WA area in July. My girlfriend will be ridding the Seatle to Portland bike tour. I look forward to having some WA/OR running under my belt. (and on my Garmin) :-)

Jon,

I went on to garmin connect and lo and behold I had an account and some runs that I had downloaded some time ago. Here is a test to see if it works. Not sure how you got it to say details but here is one from a while back.

http://connect.garmin.com/activity/4909840

This was from a 305 so maybe you should try it again with your girlfriends watch.

Jefferey,

That works just fine. So, when you are entering your workout on Fast Running Blog you have the section your typing everything into, highlight the word you want to link and click on the little icon just above where you are typing that looks like a globe with a chain link through it, the hint on it reads "Insert Web Link". Paste that link into the "URL" section. Click "Ok". Your done.

I'll have to play around and see what I'm missing. I noticed on yours that you had only one lap, have you changed that, so that you have it mark your laps at intervals like 1 mile or .5 miles?

I wonder if you manually uploaded it. Now I'm anxious to try to get her data uploaded. Thanks!

Jon,

I never set it for automatic laps or splits...didn't know you could. Will play around with it. Thanks for the help on posting a link. Good luck getting your girlfriends 305 to work...Also maybe we can go for a run when you are in town. Where will you be staying up here?

From jona on Mon, May 18, 2009 at 19:04:11 from 69.27.13.147

Jefferey,

I'm not sure the city, Kelly's brother lives up that way, so would be staying with him. But that would be cool if I could meet a fellow blogger for a run. I think we have a pretty similar pace.

I'll keep you posted.

Oh, careful setting your watch, one thing that caught me was that each event type has its own settings, so run has setting and bike has separate settings. Thats a good thing, but caught me off guard. Let me know if you have problems, happy to help.
