Short-Term Running Goals:

Stay healthy!

Would like to BQ - need to shave 23 minutes off PR.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running.

When I started running my wish that turned into a goal was to qualify for Boston. Just so I could say "I qualified for Boston."

AFTER BQ, I think I will do some Tri events.  For sure some Half Ironman events, and see where that takes me.

Married to Kelly (with a 'Y')

Ran the 6 mile Word Perfect route.  I had no plan going into the run, and the plans changed almost every mile.  So, I will just say I got a run in.  :-)

First 1.30 miles is gradual up to get up and around WP.  My legs were telling me the whole way that I need to get some cross training (weights/biking) in on a regular basis.  Legs were tired the whole way.

Looking forward I am supposed to do speed work Wed.  I'm hoping that I don't have these tired legs, or it will be some very slow speed that I work at!

For very tired legs you sure ran fast! :-)

I had lead legs this morning too. Monday mornings are so hard, why is that? I need to do Xtraing too; but that means I'll have to learn a new skill! I think biking is an EXCELLENT Xtrain. Kelly will agree! :D GOOD LUCK on the speedwork. You will be speedy come Wed., guarantee!

Biking is an excellent xtraining sport. I can't keep up with that Kelly though. She is WAY to fast for me!

I can't imagine you with lead legs Smooth. You run so many miles!

Nice and consistent lately! Way to keep the miles up there...

What's the plan you are on?

Jeff, Plan? Ha. Can you say fly by the seat of my pants?

I probably should follow a plan a little more closely. I have always used a plan that I got from the first marathon I signed up with, John (the Penguin) Bigham, and Jenny Hadfield wrote it out. It is VERY similar to McMillan, or Runners World personal trainer thing (and I suspect that they had a hand in the writing it). I'm a little behind right now, and I don't follow the "speed work" days as good as I should. I find speed work hard to do. Someday maybe I'll be a real runner and be committed to running. :-)
