Short-Term Running Goals:

Stay healthy!

Would like to BQ - need to shave 23 minutes off PR.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running.

When I started running my wish that turned into a goal was to qualify for Boston. Just so I could say "I qualified for Boston."

AFTER BQ, I think I will do some Tri events.  For sure some Half Ironman events, and see where that takes me.

Personal:

Married to Kelly (with a 'Y')

Started at the house went behind Smiths and up the lower part of Suncrest then down towards the never ending drinking fountain.  Wanted 8 miles, but was tooooo pressed for time, so turned at just over 28 minutes (3.52 miles).

Checking my splits, I feel ok about the run.  I'm not in as good of shape as I was last year.  One thing I have taken notice of is trying to push harder down hills/minor declines.  I'm amazed at how much energy it takes to hold a fast pace.  Saturday I had close to a mile at 5:50 or better.  And part of that mile was at 5:00 (the watch blipped a couple times at 4:58 which made me smile.)  Now I'm not fooling myself, that was a downhill stretch, but fun to see the (for me!!) really fast pace, and HARD to hold it.  It amazes me how hard it was even downhill to hold that pace.

Anyway, have a great day!

Ran the same route today as Monday.  Felt better, but not great.  Came in with a overall faster pace.  I think I may have been faster today had I not lifted weights last night with Kelly.  Did a bunch of leg training and some arms/upper body weights.  Feels good though.  :-)

Have a great day!
