Stay healthy!

Would like to BQ - need to shave 23 minutes off PR.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running.

When I started running my wish that turned into a goal was to qualify for Boston. Just so I could say "I qualified for Boston."

AFTER BQ, I think I will do some Tri events.  For sure some Half Ironman events, and see where that takes me.

Married to Kelly (with a 'Y')

Well I am pretty sure I have some sort of yuck in me.  I can feel stuff in my throat trying to get out, when I'm out running my nose runs faster than I do.  Oh well.  POWER through, and hopefully it is gone by this time next week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was meaning to post my heart rate info the other day, but have been forgetting.  Soooo, I will today.  One thing I noticed on here is mile 4 my AHR  was 164 and on mile 5 it was 162.  5 was less than 4, but 5 was almost 30 seconds faster.  Reasons I can think of is terrain - 4 was more of a slight uphill and 5 was the same hill for the most part, just going the other direction.  Also, maybe the speed/hr is misleading in 4 because I thought I was further than I was and walked while I was turning around, then noticed my distance and knew I needed to be further down the road.  So turned and started back running.  Then I noticed my time was YUCK so I picked up the pace to make up for the walking bit.......anywho.  Here are the #'s.

 MileAve Speed
Ave Heart Rate

 2 7:45 156 162
 3 7:45 162 166
 4 7:53 164 168
 5 7:24 162 164

Have a GREAT day!

Hey Jon, when are you and Kelli getting married? Sorry for the yuck, but you are one speedy guy anyway!

From Smooth on Thu, Sep 24, 2009 at 15:22:17 from 97.117.81.161

NICE run for having yuck in you. You lost me on the HR thing. I was never good at data. That's your line of specialty, isn't it, Data Boy? Oh yeah! How's the wedding plan coming along?

Dude!

Your easy pace is faster than my marathon pace!

I can't believe your HR runs hotter than mine...

Leslie - we are getting married Oct 16! YAHOO!!!!! I'll make sure you get an invite.

Smooth - No worries on the HR stuff. I think watching the HR you can better gauge effort. Better than just average pace. I would like to be better about watching that information.

Jeff - I'll bet your more kind to your heart. What was your HR back before your last marathon?

From Snoqualmie Ridge Runner on Thu, Sep 24, 2009 at 18:36:06 from 70.56.90.16

Before the marathon it was running about 140ish on easy runs...that's outside. Treadmill would be a little lower.

I hope you are taking in lots of fluids and some of those Emergen-C packets.

Better to have the yuck now than one week from now.

Sleep too!!! Don't forget about that!

TJ out!! :)

TJ - I've never taken "Emergen-C", what is it for? Where can I get it?

Oh, and I am taking lots of good ole water. :-)

Thanks Doc! :-)

DB!

I just buy them at Target.

You mix them with water ... tons of vitamin C and other vitamins and minerals as well. Right now I am taking two a day ... precautionary measures since we have a sick little one at home. :) They come in a 30 pack for about $9.00. If you don't see them, ask the pharmacist.

Get better!! REST!!!!

Thanks TJ - I think I will go get some. Sounds like a good thing.
