Short-Term Running Goals:

Stay healthy!

Would like to BQ - need to shave 23 minutes off PR.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running.

When I started running my wish that turned into a goal was to qualify for Boston. Just so I could say "I qualified for Boston."

AFTER BQ, I think I will do some Tri events.  For sure some Half Ironman events, and see where that takes me.

Kelly and I ran the race together.  I have been worried this would be the first and last for Kelly.  She has had a hard time with her foot for the past year.  But, Kelly ran this and even did a heal click at the finish line.  She had energy to spare. Kelly let me sign us up for the runners series.  I would like to run again next year.

As for this race. The start was good.  Everything seemed fine up to Veyo. About the middle of the hill I started feeling yuck.  So we did a run walk up the remainder of the hill.  Something I have noticed this year is I have been having a very hard time going up hills.  It's like I have a hard time breathing.  Things just got worse for me from there for me.  Kelly was awesome.  She kept us going.  So many times I was ready to quit, but she stayed strong.

About mile 16 we picked up a kid that was having a hard time.  Seemed like we were playing leap frog for 2-3 miles prior to that.  He stayed with us to the end.  Once we crossed the finish line we never saw him again.

I had a good time.  I am very proud of Kelly for running her first marathon, and dragging me with her.  I'll have figure out what my problem is.

Happy running!

I am so so so so so so SO PROUD of Kelly. She has no idea how amazing she is! You two have been through so much this year and triumph over all of it. I am glad Kelly stayed strong and pulled you to the finish! :) WAY to help another kid finish as well.

So bummed that I didn't get to see you two at all the whole SG weekend. Hope you figure out what was the problem with the breathing.

How was Kelly's surgery? Hope she is recovering well. I think she's in such tip top shape that she will be back in no time, hopefully just in time for your wedding anniversary celebration.♥♥

I'm excited that you both got in the runner series. Those races really keep us running through the dreary winter months. I'm IN too and so are a bunch of us from the ward. We'll have to plan some runs together.

Take care and hope you have a very HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!! :)

Hey Smooth, Kelly is doing great. She is recovering nicely. It will still be some time before she can get out and exercise, but.... before we know it she will be back. :-)

Hope all is well with you and Pres.

Oh Smooth, Happy (Late) Birthday! I need to put it in my mental calendar that your birthday is the same day as my anniversary. :-) What an awesome day hu?

Can't wait to see you at Spectrum! Are your kids coming too? There's some kind of tournament and hs stuff going on down in SG. Hope you got a hotel. I'm going down with John and Wendy and staying at her niece's place in Hurricane!

Smooth, we called about a month ago and got a hotel. We will have a couple of kids with us. You and Larry up for dinner Fri night, do you want to ask John and Wendy too?

From Smooth on Wed, Mar 07, 2012 at 15:26:01 from 174.27.219.252

Larry is not coming. He has to speak at the Stake R.S. Conference.

I'll see what John and Wendy have planned, we'd love to join you for dinner.

I'm glad you got a hotel in advance. :)
