Short-Term Running Goals:

Stay healthy!

Would like to BQ - need to shave 23 minutes off PR.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running.

When I started running my wish that turned into a goal was to qualify for Boston. Just so I could say "I qualified for Boston."

AFTER BQ, I think I will do some Tri events.  For sure some Half Ironman events, and see where that takes me.

Race went ok.  I was really feeling my legs about mile 3/4.  Then I was feeling my knees for about 4/5.  That was just hangover from Sat.  I hope.  Not sure if this is better or worse than last year.  But this much is true, I took 2nd last year in my AG and today 3rd.  :-(

Saw a ton of people from the blog there.  Great race everyone.

Last "race" until SGM!

Have a great Day!

Jon you really kept me going a few times there, thanks! It was also really nice to have Kelly there, running next to you I was privileged to get good encouragement a lot!!

Nice job on the course PR AND the 3rd place win! I sure hope those knees quiet down for you, I'm certain it's just the 'hangover' from Saturday. It's always a little harder than we think to race after a long run! You and Kelly are AMAZING!!! Great job and give Kelly a shout of good luck for me at Lotoja!

Great race Jon, and you went out and ran some more. I am sure your legs were tired after Saturday, I know mine were!!!!

Tell Kelly thanks for checking on all of us. And remind her that i am nice, since I pretty much just used caveman talk every time she asked me how I was doing!

Smooth - Thanks Smooth, it is always so nice to see you.

Kellie - Kelly told me about the blogging of her race. I'll make sure you all know about it! :-) I'm sure she will do awesome!

Teena - You are ready for SG. Hopefully your Saturday run hang over is over!

Rachel - Good race kid. I can't believe you had such a good race with such a hard run on Sat. Way to go!

Walter - Thanks Walter. I am always amazed at the speed you and other leaders go. Wow. It was good to chat with you.

Jeff - its nothing you wouldn't do if you didn't have the whole injury thing going on. Heal quick my friend.

Kelli - Kelly knows your a nice person. :-)

John...regarding the Veyo hill, I actually run pretty hard into and through Veyo because it's downhill into town. When I hit the actual hill after passing through town I basically slow down in that I don't expend extra effort to get up the hill. I try and keep the same effort level which results in a slower mile. To give you a point of reference, instead of runnning 5:22-5:24 miles like i would through town, I wound up with a 5:55 or something like that last time for the mile that included the hill. The key is remembering that there are plenty of downhill miles to make up for the uphill mile and just don't kill yourself getting up the hill or you will pay dearly.

Thanks Sean, Your 5:xx talk just kills me. Wow fast! That is what I was thinking about for Veyo, and it seems like there is one or two other (not as big) hills later in SGM. Those dang hills play with my mind.
