When I started running my wish that turned into a goal was to qualify for Boston. Just so I could say "I qualified for Boston."

AFTER BQ, I think I will do some Tri events.  For sure some Half Ironman events, and see where that takes me.

Met my friend at the mouth of the canyon and ran up, figured the total distance was right at 8 miles.  Ran in 1:07:13.  The wind was yuck going up.  As luck would have it when we turned around to come down the canyon, we got in behind a lady from Vegas, she was hold a pace slightly faster than my friend would have let me take him, and I think he realized that he could stay with her, and went a little faster.  Had she not been there, the pace would have been about equal going back, but we got a negative split.  Yeah.

35:56 split going up.  And if I'm doing my math right, down is 31:17.

Day late report, ran up the canyon again today. Got a late start, 8:30 or so. Still ok weather. I had to talk myself into going out at all. That seems to be the norm for me lately. I made it, now I need to make it more next week.

I met my friend Jared for a night run, we went 5 miles.  Not the greatest on the pace.  I'm feeling a little out of shape, and I swam 800 meters prior. 

I need to get focused on running.  I need to commit myself!

Ran easy 5 this morning. Going through a big slump. Having a hard time even getting out the door. I am signed up for the Hobble Creek Half, that will be very very interesting if I don't get my hind quarters out the door!

AM:

Was going to run up to Bridal Vail, but they had the trail blocked because of fire.

Ran into a friend at the top, ran down with him. Was an easy run, working my way back up in miles per week. This makes fourth day in a row. Yeah, will shoot for five days next week. So, this week I had a 6.75, 3.75, 3.15, and a 7 for 20.65. Next week I will shoot for 26. So, get a good start and go out MONDAY!!!!

 Wasn't planning on running anymore Sat. but the treadmil was looking lonely and I felt the urge, so I went for a 3 mile jog on the t'mill.  That sure is boring.  Took advantage of the speed knowledge and bumped up the pace to 6:30 for .25, and 7:00-7:30 a couple times for 1.5 or so.  Then sat at 8:00 for the remainder.

Went out this morning thinking I was running 5-6 miles, but then one of those stupid mis-communication things happened and I had to drive someone to the airport, so had to stop after 2.  Bummer, but luckily I have some plans to run tonight with a friend. 

 

So, AM - 2 miles.

PM - 7 miles / 1:03

Went and ran behind the water towers above the Orem Cemitary.  The first mile just kills me.  Of coarse the last mile is fast.

Have been feeling a little pain in my right calf.

Went out to run 3, was feeling really tight, think that maybe I didn't have enough rest between runs.  My right calf is feeling YUCK.  So, I pulled off what I was going to do and walk/ran home.  Only 2 miles.
