Short-Term Running Goals:

Stay healthy!

Would like to BQ - need to shave 23 minutes off PR.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running.

When I started running my wish that turned into a goal was to qualify for Boston. Just so I could say "I qualified for Boston."

AFTER BQ, I think I will do some Tri events.  For sure some Half Ironman events, and see where that takes me.

Married to Kelly (with a 'Y')

Ever have those days where you feel like your made of lead, and the wind is blowing against you no matter which direction you are running?  Well, thats me today.  Plus my gut felt yuck all run long.  Just glad I got out of bed and put some miles in the fitness bank.

Now I'm off to the floor for my 100 push up challenge day 1.

Have a great day!

Unfortunatly, i know EXACTLY how you feel, nearly every day;) Hang int here! The pace wROCKED!!

From Kelli on Tue, Sep 23, 2008 at 11:29:11

Hey, I just made that same comment about the wind. Strange.

And, why, if your legs are made of lead, are you running so fast?

How did the push-ups go?

From jona on Tue, Sep 23, 2008 at 12:02:59

Marion, is that my type of "wROCKED", I would say it really means waddle rocked. Because that is what I do, me and John the Penguin Bingham, waddle. "Waddle on my Friends."

Kelly, I hate when the wind is like that, its one thing to have cold, but cold and wind sucks. It wasn't that cold, 48, but the cold part of the wind went right through me, and the wind part of the wind wanted to push me backwards.

Push ups went ok. I'm amazed at the drain doing the simple sets puts on the max out part at the end. I'm such a wimp on push ups. I maxed that last set at 28. Are you doing them? I'll bet your chicking me big time!

From marion on Tue, Sep 23, 2008 at 12:27:43

Sorry Jon- "wROCKED" was just a typo due to brain injury. you rock ROCK!

Your push=ups are awesome! I am doing a modified lamo version of the push-up thing cause I can only do girl pushups. My whole goal in life is to be able to do 10 man push-ups. Again, I am the token lame chick on the blog to make the rest of you feel better about yourselves. I am happy to serve ;D

Oh dang, I want to be a waddler.

Marion, you will get there. The only reason I can do any is I swim laps occasionally. You will get there. Keep working on it. 10 man pu's will come before you know it.

From Kelli on Tue, Sep 23, 2008 at 16:02:56

Um, I maxed out at 10. So no chicking there. I have no upper body strength (I should after lugging five kids around for 15 years!)

From leslie on Thu, Sep 25, 2008 at 12:46:06

I am feeling the same way Jon! We do get points in runners heaven for putting them in the bank! I like that!

From jona on Thu, Sep 25, 2008 at 13:27:04

Thanks Leslie, I've been having a hard time making those deposits lately, hope I have enough saved up. :-)

Uh-oh!!! Nothing since Tuesday???

We still have no word on the dang marathon. If no one drops out, it will be the first time since they have been invited. That will stink!!

From jona on Sun, Sep 28, 2008 at 01:39:00

Hey Kelli,

Its been a rough week. I did get out today though.

I have my fingers crossed, but I have considered it a long shot the whole time. So don't feel bad if it doesn't happen, I really appreciate you and Scott trying!!!!!

I may go down just so I can see everyone at the Friday night dinner.

From Kelli on Sun, Sep 28, 2008 at 11:19:09

That would be cool, although I would rather you run!!! But, hey, can you cheer for me at the finish? No one cheered for me last year. I beat the 3 men I ran with (I didn't even get to chick them, I left 2 of them at mile one) and the wives didn't even cheer for me. In fact, one barely acknowledged me as I ran by and the other wasn't even there until about 10 minutes later (she was sure none of us under trained people could make it in under 4 hours). Anyway, it stunk!

From jona on Sun, Sep 28, 2008 at 14:01:31

I'm right there with you Kelli, I have never had anyone at the end cheering. My brother in law was at all the marathons, well I guess the first one he was about .25 miles from the end, but didn't find me. The others he didn't make it to the end because his wife was almost an hour after me. Last year he even had my son with him and didn't get over to the finish till after I had been in for 20-30 min.

I would be happy to cheer for you.

But I am with you on running it. I do hope something comes through. :-)
